Autumn is here!

The Autumn Faerie reproduced by kind permission of the artist Elizabeth Andrews.
'Come said the wind to
the leaves one day,
Come o're the meadows
And we will play,
Pu on your dresses
Scarlet and gold
For summer is gone
And the days grow cold'
Traditional children's song
The seasons are changing and the evenings are drawing in, the Faeries are gathering for the apple picking in the west country, presided over by the Apple Tree Man guardian of the Orchards.
To ensure future crops the last few apples are left for him and the pixies.
The magical properties of the Apple tree were recognised by the Celts who used the wood in their Samhain festivals.
